Comrade Obama and Selfish Americans
It’s down to the wire folks and finally the true nature of the Messiah of Chicago (where the dead rise every four years) begins to shine forth. Take this Hamlet-esque soliloquy:
“The point is, though, that — and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class — it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month – then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America.”
“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”
(Note to Sen. Obama: Those rising boats in the 90’s? The result of massive tax cuts .. across the board; not the targeted, social engineering redistribution you have proposed.)
Barack, you’re right…it’s not charity. Charity is voluntary. Freely given from a sense of gratitude and understanding that there but for the grace of God go I; a recognition that we are our brother’s keeper. (Something you seemed to have missed until you ran for President. Really, 1% to charity? With your income?)
We bitter racists, clinging to our guns and religion up in those redneck backwoods, still manage to support charitable institutions better than two-to-one over the more sophisticated, compassionate liberal members of the population. One very interesting fact from Professor Brooks study: People who do not believe that government should reduce income inequality give an average of four times more than people who believe government should use tax policy to transfer wealth from the “rich” to lower income groups.
What you propose is governmental extortion via tax policy backed by the full power of the Internal Revenue Service. (The only agency of the government where the presumption of innocence does not apply!)
Sen. Obama, at least have the intellectual honesty to admit you want to redistribute income from those who earn it to those whom you find more deserving.
Keeping the fruits of my labor, to distribute as I see fit, falls under that other virtue so lacking in Washington: Justice.

Team Obama and The New Pravda
In scenes reminiscent of the old Soviet Union, Team Obama has continued to purge the non-conformists covering The Candidate of Redistribution.
First, the Obama campaign cut off all contact with WFTV-Channel 9 in Orlando when Sen. Biden was asked to explain how Obama’s comments to “Joe-the-Plumber” could be interpreted as anything other than Marxism.
A few days later, Joe Biden went over the edge when Philadelphia’s CBS3 asked similar questions. In high dudgeon, Biden claimed he had been ambushed by CBS3’s Angela Russell and Chris May. The reporters had the temerity to ask what the messiah meant by his wealth redistribution comments to Joe the Plumber.
Now, in a move that should scare anyone who cares about a free and open government, Team Obama has banned three major newpapers from the Obama campaign plane. Reporters from The New York Post, the Dallas Morning News and the Washington Times had been ousted as of Sunday. (Update: 1 Nov 2008 Obama spokesman Bill Burton says the valuable seats taken from the ousted reporters have been filled by a film crew documenting the final days of the Obama campaign, and staff from Obama’s hometown papers, the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, as well as Ebony and Jet magazines, also published in Chicago, Politico reports. Seats were available; just not for the opposition.)
(Surprise: All three papers had endorsed John McCain. What a coincidence!)
The Washington Times editorial page endorsed McCain on Tuesday and was notified Thursday night that there was no longer room for it on the Obama plane. (No room at the Inn?)
“This feels like the journalistic equivalent of redistributing the wealth,” Washington Times executive editor John Solomon said.
“I hope the candidate that promises to unite America isn’t using a litmus test to determine who gets to cover his campaign,” he added.
Obama’s chief communications officer Anita Dunn said demand for seats on the plane during the final campaign weekend had far exceeded supply and forced the Democratic nominee’s aides to make hard and unpleasant decisions for all concerned.
Barack? Joe? You’re running out of media outlets as quickly as you’re running out of credibility.
At this rate, an Obama White House Press Corps will be an oxymoron.
