United States of America: 1776 – 2008

“Socialism is the doctrine that man has no
right to exist for his own sake,
that his life and his work do not belong to him,
but belong to society,
that the only justification of his

existence is his service to society,
and that society may dispose of him
in any way it pleases
for the sake of whatever it deems to be its
own tribal, collective good.”

Comrade Obama and Selfish Americans

It’s down to the wire folks and finally the true nature of the Messiah of Chicago (where the dead rise every four years) begins to shine forth.  Take this Hamlet-esque soliloquy:

“The point is, though, that — and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class — it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month – then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America.”

“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”

(Note to Sen. Obama: Those rising boats in the 90’s? The result of massive tax cuts .. across the board; not the targeted, social engineering redistribution you have proposed.)

Barack, you’re right…it’s not charity.  Charity is voluntary.  Freely given from a sense of gratitude and understanding that there but for the grace of God go I; a recognition that we are our brother’s keeper.  (Something you seemed to have missed until you ran for President. Really, 1% to charity? With your income?)

We bitter racists, clinging to our guns and religion up in those redneck backwoods, still manage to support charitable institutions better than two-to-one over the more sophisticated, compassionate liberal members of the population.  One very interesting fact from Professor Brooks study: People who do not believe that government should reduce income inequality give an average of four times more than people who believe government should use tax policy to transfer wealth from the “rich” to lower income groups.

What you propose is governmental extortion via tax policy backed by the full power of the Internal Revenue Service.  (The only agency of the government where the presumption of innocence does not apply!)

Sen. Obama, at least have the intellectual honesty to admit you want to redistribute income from those who earn it to those whom you find more deserving.

Keeping the fruits of my labor, to distribute as I see fit, falls under that other virtue so lacking in Washington: Justice.
